Lake Tillery Results

The first stop of the Fall for the 2020-21 North Carolina BASS High School and Junior Series landed on a perfect weather day at beautiful Lake Tillery! The morning was kicked off by a pleasant 53 degrees. It was a clear morning to blast off for the 53 boat field! The guys and girls left in pursuit of some awesome bags of largemouth and smallmouth bass that dwell in Lake Tillery. Eventually, the temps reached a fantastic 72 degrees by the afternoon as everyone was blessed with a gorgeous day of fishing.

Once we opened the scales for weigh in, Lake Tillery showed up! Fishing in their first ever bass tournament, Aden Blalock and Levi Graham from Rowan County (RoCo) Anglers won the Junior division with three fish weighing 8.00 pounds. Their catch was anchored by an impressive 5.69-pound largemouth bass.

Taking third place in the High School division was Josh Price and Ashton Fox from Spartan Bass Fishing with five fish weighing 9.66 pounds! Second place was secured by Kaden Buchmann and Corwin Stanley of Mooresville Bass Fishing. They weighed in five fish good for 10.28 pounds! And taking a BIG win from Freedom High School, Hunter Keller fishing by himself, emerged as the victor with a 5 fish limit worth a whopping 14.69 pounds!!

There were three fish over five pounds weighed in including an absolutely massive 7.75-pound Lake Tillery largemouth bass caught by the team of Dawson Bartlett and Cole Weaver from McDowell High School. The big fish was caught on a spinnerbait.

We would like to thank everyone for fishing the Lake Tillery event and encourage anglers to go ahead and sign up for the Lake Norman tournament on November 21st. We’d like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers for making this tournament possible that include but are not limited to: Bob Bauer, Todd Bare, Deanna Garmon, Water Wood Custom Baits, Goosehead Insurance and Woods to Water Outdoor Company.
