Long & Jennings Taste Victory At Kerr Lake
Kerr Lake – Henderson, NC – 3/31/18
Thirty-one youth teams converged onto Kerr Lake for event number three of the 2017/2018 NC B.A.S.S. Junior & High School East Series. Teams launched and returned from the Nutbush park & campground facility. The fish seemed to be a bit stubborn throughout the day and forced the anglers to work hard for their catch.
Wyatt Long and Logan Jennings took the top spot with their catch of 8.74lbs. Each angler received a plaque signifying the win and a bait casting rod from Favorite Rods. The anglers were also awarded with a combination of fishing lures as their lunker prize for catching the single, largest fish of the event weighing 4.55lbs.
Cole Lanier and Tucker Brady settled into a close second position with their catch of 8.29lbs, earning the tandem a plaques signifying their accomplishment and bait casting rods from Favorite Rods.
Competing alone, Sean-Michael Joyce managed to secure the third spot in the event with his catch of 7.16lbs. Joyce earned a pair of bait casting rods from Favorite Rods for his efforts.
Rounding out the top five included the fourth place pairing of Luke and Ashton Rasberry with their catch of 7.01lbs and the fifth place team of Nathan Canaday and Ayden Wood with 5.93lbs.
The fourth and final regular season event will take place May 19th on Jordan Lake using the Farrington Point Landing as the launch and return point.
A special thanks goes out to all the boat captains that gave their time to fill the roles of mentors and help make this event possible for the young anglers. As a means rewarding our volunteers, each adult that assisted in this role will have their name included in an end-of-the-season random drawing for one of two $100 gift certificates from Outdoor Accessories Unlimited.
