Two teams from North Carolina earned their right to attend this National Championship event through a series of divisional events.  Each secured their advancement opportunity by being crowned as team points champs among their area division.  Jeremy Dellinger & Joshua Lackey were crowned as Western Series champs while Ethan Gilbert & Cody Anderson gained the Eastern Series title.  Congratulations to you four and we wish you the best in you championship quest.

Western Series Champs – Jeremy Dellinger and Joshua Lackey

JD & JL

Jeremy:
I have intentions on attending UNC Charlotte this fall, and majoring in some form of engineering.  I am still undecided as to which.  My favorite hobby is bass fishing, but I also enjoy riding ATV’s and 4-wheelers, all types of hunting, and shooting.  My favorite lake would have to be Lake Norman, it’s taught me almost everything I know about fishing.  My favorite technique would be targeting rock, and other offshore places with a walking topwater bait.

Joshua:
I will be attending Virginia Tech this fall, and plan on double majoring in mechanical engineering and economics.  I enjoy golfing, playing basketball, hunting, and obviously fishing.  My favorite lake would have to be none other than the lake I grew up learning to fish, Lake Norman.  My favorite technique would be flipping docks with a jig.

Eastern Series Champs – Ethan Gilbert and Cody Anderson

Ethan & Cody

Ethan has no other hobbies other than fishing- he spends every free moment out on the water (fishing multiple times a week now that he has his driver license).  He plans to join a bass fishing team in college and pursue professional fishing as well one day.  He isn’t sure where he wants to go to college- he just knows he wants it to be somewhere that has a bass fishing team.  He currently has a 4.03 weighted GPA in high school.

Cody just plans to pursue professional fishing one day.  He has no other hobbies and said “the only thing that gets me excited is when I have a fish on my line.”

Both of these boys eat, sleep and breathe fishing. It truly is their life.
