October 2, 2021 – Lake Tillery
We kicked off the Fall season for the 20211-22 North Carolina BASS High School and Junior Series landed on a perfect weather day at beautiful Lake Tillery! It was a clear morning to blast off for the 66 boat field! The guys and girls left looking for some awesome bags of largemouth that reside in Lake Tillery. Temperatures reached over 80 degrees by the afternoon as everyone was blessed with a gorgeous day of fishing.
Leading the way in the Junior Division (13 teams), Hunter Harris and Luke Oberman from Riley’s Catch won the Junior division with five fish weighing 8.71 pounds. They went home with plaques and Academy gift cards. Finishing second, from Cleveland County Bass Anglers (CCBA) was the team of Andrew Yarboro and Caiden Little. Their catch of three fish for 4.68 pounds won them Academy Gift Cards as well.
Taking the BIG win in the High School Division, was the team of Dalton Eury and Hunter Alexander from RoCo Anglers. They weighed in an impressive 5 fish limit worth a 13.88 pounds to be the champions of the 53 team field! Andrew Foto and Michael McNulty from Riley’s Catch finished second and won the Big Fish prize by weighing in an 11.19-pound limit anchored by a 4.66 pound largemouth! The top two finishers won plaques, Water Wood Crankbaits, and a Shimano gift certificates from Skyline Marine.
Third place was secured by a limit of 10.37 pounds caught by Kaden Buchman and Chase Wodzinski from RoCo Anglers. They received plaques and Water Wood crankbaits for their efforts. The fourth-place plaques were won with a 5 fish limit weighing 9.11 pounds caught by the CCBA team of Christopher Mellon and Andrew Specht. They also received Academy gift cards. Ethan Palmer and Bo Helms won fifth place with a five fish limit weighing 8.54 pounds. The Badin Bandits team took home plaques and Academy gift cards.
