December 2nd – 2017 (Henderson, NC)

The second of four Bassmaster Junior & High School Series events (Eastern NC Division) took place over the weekend on Kerr Lake. Twenty-eight teams launched from the County Line wildlife access around 7:00 AM and returned for the afternoon weigh-in at 2:30 PM. Cool and overcast conditions greeted the anglers at the ramp, but things heated up on the water as the teams brought some great fish to the scales.

All the teams were met with hot bowls of hearty homemade chili during the weigh-in period.

A special thanks goes out to all the boat captains that gave their time to fill the roles of mentors and help make this event possible for the young anglers. As a means rewarding our volunteers, each adult that assisted in this role will have their name included in an end-of-the-season random drawing for one of two $100 gift certificates from Outdoor Accessories Unlimited.

We would also like to thank those parents and boat captains that assisted with several of the weigh-in activities.  You are greatly appreciated in the roles that you helped perform.  Everyone coming together in such a way creates a wonderful family-like atmosphere.

The next event for the Eastern NC division will take place March 31, 2018 on Kerr Lake out of the Flemingtown Wildlife facility. The tournament is open to all anglers, including any teams from Virginia that would like to attend this on-the-border event.
